For SEO Affiliates Ready to Expand Beyond Google
If your strategy is to still be focusing on just posting articles to your website, you're missing out on some great opportunities.
Since HCU (Helpful Content Update), ranking has become unpredictable. It’s also worth remembering that traffic and traffic from different sources is a ranking factor.
The solution? Create content but also create more from your existing content.
By repurposing your content into other types, you can access traffic from different platforms.
This helps you to grow your audience and increase conversions.
So you’ll be able to expand your reach, build brand authority and boost affiliate revenue.
This guide is going to show you 7 powerful ways of repurposing your articles. You’ll even find some AI Prompts to help you speed up the process.
I’ll also give you an example of this working, its important to note that this is using a dummy article. If you do use AI, its also important to rewrite/improve in your own writing style.
One of the quickest and easiest ways to repurpose your affiliate content is to turn it into newsletters.
In the past I’ve tried to build email lists but the biggest hurdle I faced was what to send them on a weekly or monthly basis. Well why not send article content you’ve already written?
You might have a site that has hundreds of articles, making a nice backlog of newsletter you could be sending.
Providing niche related and useful newsletters to your list is going to help keep them engaged, get them to return to your website or even purchase from a sales email you might send in the future.
Some articles you might even be able to repurpose into a multi-part series.
“Turn this article into a [short but catchy email] / [x part email series] to send to my email list. The tone should be conversational, concise but also informative. The aim of the article is to [send them to the full article on my website] / [send them to the offer page to hopefully purchase the product]. The email should have a hook to encourage them to read and end with a clear call to action. Including a catchy subject like that will grab attention and interest. Here is the article [PASTE ARTICLE]”
Short form video is a great way of getting massive reach and grabbing attention. Click Throughs and conversion are normally lower as you’ll initially be building an audience and a community.
Although once you’ve started building a fan base, they’re more likely to purchase based on your recommendations.
On a side note, I never really used TikTok before. I joined two weeks ago for a fun test project and nearly 1000 followers already. With 8.5k views. Might not sound like much but for 2 weeks worth of work, it's not bad.
Most of your articles could probably get turned into a couple of 60 second videos that could be used to grow your audience. AI can really help quickly give you a rough script or ideas for you to flesh out.
“Give me 5 short-form video ideas (under 60 seconds) based on this blog post. Each one should include a scroll-stopping hook, a clear benefit, and a strong call-to-action. Keep them concise and formatted like a TikTok script. Here’s the article: [PASTE ARTICLE]”
They say a picture tells a thousand words, so why not turn your articles into images?
It can also help people digest your content easier, as you can break down complex topics into visuals.
Sharing this as Instagram Carousels or posts on Pinterest can drive a ton of traffic and engagement.
I’ve said many times over the years that affiliates do not take advantage of Pinterest enough. It is a powerhouse for traffic.
Pinterest particularly is great for evergreen content, as it can continue to get views for months, if not years.
“Break this article into a 5-slide Instagram carousel. Each slide should be engaging, visually focused, and highlight one main point. Include suggested headings and copy for each slide. Here's the content: [PASTE ARTICLE]”
You might not naturally think about producing a podcast, but it's something that is low effort but could be beneficial when looking to build a brand.
Podcasts are becoming more and more popular, with 584 million listeners worldwide. This is increasing partly due to video podcasts but audio only is still worth doing.
Having a regular podcast published to all the main platforms such as Apple Music and Spoitify is a great way of building authority and your expertise. You’ll be including your brand name and link to your website, whilst linking to the podcasts from your website.
“Turn this blog post into a solo podcast script. Make it sound natural and conversational, as if I’m talking to my audience. Add an intro, a few transition lines, and a closing CTA. Keep it around 5–7 minutes long. Here’s the article: [PASTE ARTICLE]”
For me this would be the most important thing to do when looking to repurpose your written content. It just works hand in hand with SEO and your website.
Write the article, turn it into a video and then add it back to the article for additional engagement and time on page.
Video is naturally going to take longer to produce but the results are worth the effort.
YouTube has roughly 2.7 Billion monthly users, this is a market that you cannot afford to take advantage of. It's a huge opportunity.
Not only can you generate traffic to your website and build your brand, you can generate revenue from ads as well as affiliate links in the video description.
In roughly 2 months of me doing a little YouTube, I’ve generated 16,000 extra views. Again not a huge amount but it compounds over time.(Pretty decent still for 1 video a week for 2 months.)
The more effort you put into your content, the more this will grow over time.
“Create a YouTube video script based on this blog post. Include an engaging hook, a structured breakdown of the content (Intro > Main Points > CTA), and include suggestions for visuals or product callouts. Make it suitable for a 5–8 minute video. Here’s the article: [PASTE ARTICLE]”
Live streaming is not just for gaming, at the point of writing this there are 196k viewers watching “just chatting” streams.
The great thing about live streams is that they help to build authenticity, improving trust and therefore your overall sales.
I do streams in my niche and have done a fair few affiliate marketing streams in the past, they’re a great way of not just building your personal brand but getting to know your community more.
You also have the added benefit that you can generate ad revenue, money from people subscribing and direct affiliate sales.
In order to benefit from Live streaming, you need a bit of an audience already, some form of following that will want to join you.
I would do monthly QnA’s about your niche and invite your email list, YouTube subscribers etc to join, getting them to send you questions prior to the stream.
You can then also do a livestream based on a specific article on your site. For example, lets say you have an article on Lion’s Mane. The livestream could be “Lion’s Mane 101 and Your Questions Answered”
“Create a livestream outline based on this article. Include a compelling title, a short intro, 3–5 talking points, and a list of questions I can use to engage the audience. Make it casual and value-focused. Here’s the article: [PASTE ARTICLE]”
If you’ve been working on your website for awhile, you will have built up a good amount of written content. You could repurpose this into a downloadable ebook.
This ebook will then make for a great lead magnet, so you can build up an email list. Continue to provide valuable information and a few promo mails and this will lead to even higher conversions.
An ebook can also be a great way to build your personal brand and show that you’re an expert in the industry.
Why not use Amazon's publishing service and get the ebook listed on Amazon and use their print on demand service.
Being a published author automatically makes people think that you’re an expert in the chosen subject. You might even generate a few book sales from it, at worst you’ll get a link back from your author page on Amazon to your website.
“Turn this article into a 10-page ebook. Add a title page, table of contents, chapter headings, a short introduction, and action-based content. Make it suitable as a lead magnet for people interested in [NICHE]. Here’s the article: [PASTE ARTICLE]”
Doing all the things might seem like a lot of work and time consuming, but to really do well at HCU you need to diversify your traffic and build your brand.
Repurposing a single article into the above with the help of AI will help you get additional exposure but not cause you to spread yourself too thin or suffer from burnout. (which is something I know too well.)
Don't do all 7 methods at one go. Start with one or two, get some results and then start stacking more. You might also want to start with one that you feel more comfortable with. For example I prefer video, so for me it makes sense to turn an article into a video and then this allows me to then turn that video into shorter form clips.
Just because you’ve written your article and published it, doesn't mean that it's done. There is so much more that can be done with the hard work you’ve put into writing that piece of content.
Remember not to just rely on A.I, it is a tool and you should always review and edit any outputs it produces.
Please feel free to reach out to me to discuss any of these methods. I'm more than happy to help you achieve more with your content.
